Established in 1999 and headquartered in Kerala, India, Unipower has grown from its roots in Distribution Transformer manufacturing to become a globally recognized name in both Dry-type and Liquid Filled Transformer technologies.

Unipower – Our Journey

1999

THE BEGINNING

Started as Unipower Systems in Kottayam, focusing on Oil-Cooled Transformer repair and manufacturing for KSEB. Soon became a leading vendor across Kerala.

2003

EXPANDING HORIZONS

Set up Unipower Transformers Pvt. Ltd. at Kinfra Park, Nellad-Cochin with in-house Cast Resin Coil technology—emerging as a key Dry-Type Transformer manufacturer in Kerala's power infrastructure growth.

2014

GOING GLOBAL

Established an 100% Export Oriented Unit(EOU) at Valayanchirangara - Cochin for Dry-Type Ventilated Transformers for the USA & Canada. Exported 150,000+ units and earned Three Star Export House status from the Government of India.

2019

MEDIUM VOLTAGE MILESTONE

Ventured into Liquid-Filled Pad-Mounted Transformers for the Canadian market—exporting 5 MVA, 34.5 kV class units for wind power projects.

2021

EXPANDING IN INDIA

Launched a new state-of-the-art facility at Tumkur, Karnataka, to serve regional demand for Dry-Type and Oil-Cooled Transformers.

2025

NEW CAPABILITIES, GLOBAL REACH

Commissioned a fully automated Radiator Manufacturing Unit with robotic welding and high precision output—exports began to the USA. Started production and export of Dry-Type Medium Voltage Transformers up to 3 MVA for North American markets.

Founded in 1999, Unipower Systems marks the beginning of the Unipower journey. As the sister concern of Unipower Transformers Pvt. Ltd., it has played a pivotal role in shaping the strong foundation of trust and quality that defines the Unipower brand today.

With over two decades of expertise, Unipower Systems has emerged as a specialist in Oil-Cooled Distribution Transformers, setting benchmarks for reliability and performance in the domestic market. The company has proudly supplied more than 30,000 Oil Cooled Distribution Transformers to the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL), holding a reputation as one of its most trusted vendors.
